esign expands into larger office space at Liverpool Waters

E-Sign Office Among the First to Connect to Mersey Heat Network

9th Jul, 2024

E-Sign is excited to announce that our Liverpool office at No.8 Princes Parade is going to be the first commercial building in the city to have our heating and hot water supply connected to the Mersey Heat network. This network features a multi million pound energy centre that has the capacity to provide low carbon heating and hot water to thousands of homes and businesses throughout the city. Therefore, both energy costs and carbon footprint will be significantly reduced for those who are part of the network.

The energy centre is currently under construction with completion expected to be this coming autumn. Once it is up and running, the centre will be home to one of the UK’s biggest water source heat pumps. This means it will take heat from the nearby Leeds/Liverpool canal and use it to provide heating to surrounding homes and businesses via a 6km district heating network.

Adam Ross, Director of Operations at E-Sign, said:

“E-Sign is happy to be part of this transition to the Mersey Heat network as we’re passionate about environmental sustainability and doing our part to reduce carbon emissions. Through the products and services we provide and the processes we have in place for ourselves we strive to make a positive difference.”

As a paperless software solution, we’re committed to giving businesses and organisations the tools they need to reduce their carbon footprint. In addition to our office joining the Mersey Heat network, we continue to monitor our environmental impact and implement ways in which we can contribute to a greener future. Examples of this include:

  • Members of the SME Climate Hub to help with our sustainability journey, using their resources to measure our impact and introduce new green initiatives and employee schemes.
  • E-Sign continues to provide cutting edge electronic signature and digital document solutions that can replace outdated paper-based workflows for businesses of any size and across all industries.
  • We have partnered with carbon off-setting firm Wanderlands to tackle the issue of fraud in the carbon off-setting market, with a fully digital solution built on blockchain technology.
  • Our headquarters at Liverpool Waters has been verified as Net Zero for the past 3 years, using locally generated heat through the district heat network and energy centre.
